“Lineage of Light”

With a desire to expond in scale, I created three large organza prints—soft veils of memory—each one tracing the lineage of ballet through the women who carried it before me. Photographs of my mother and her teacher, who later became mine, float across the fabric like echoes of movement. This piece is a tribute to the evolution of a love passed down, beginning when my mother first stepped into the studio on Nantucket, guided by a light that would one day guide me, too.
Ballet, in this work, becomes more than art—it becomes inheritance. A thread of grace and discipline woven between generations, delicate and enduring. Through these prints, I honor the way ballet has lived in us—how its beauty and devotion continue to pass from hand to hand, heart to heart.
