“momentary memory”

Filmed on an old Super 8 camera, I made a video to capture the essence of what it means to be a dancer. Through quiet rituals—preparing my pointe shoes, moving with intention, lingering in stillness—the film reveals the tender and complex relationship I hold with ballet. It is an intimate reflection of my past, offering insight into the foundation of my current work and the direction it continues to take.
The video’s intention is to be projected over my supporting piece titled Lineage of Light. As the film’s light cascades through the sheer fabric, it transforms the space into something immersive—inviting viewers to step inside the work and experience it on a more visceral level. The layering of a moving image and delicate textile evokes a sense of memory, as if suspended in time.
This piece is more than a tribute to ballet—it also speaks to my growing love for filmmaking and animation. It represents a culmination of disciplines, a bridge between movement and stillness, craft and image, past and present. Through this project, I explore how multiple passions can coexist and inform one another, creating a unified expression of devotion, curiosity, and storytelling.
